What makes for healthy smoothie recipes with frozen fruit? Well, I think it involves using the right ingredients that are both whole some and organic to create the best possible smoothie that is not only delicious but nutritious as well! I can not overstate the importance of using organic ingredients in general. This is because buying organic allows you to avoid the nasty pesticides and toxins that are found in more traditionally grown produce and food which are known to be cancerous and generally all around bad for your health. So stick to the natural stuff folks, it also happens to taste a lot better too in mine and many other people's judgments, so don't skimp on the good stuff!
Now another way to make them healthy is to include other types of healthy ingredients in them beyond just fruit, and that can come in the form of veggies, supplements or other foods like yogurt and milk. For those of you who are averse to dairy, you can simply go with almond or rice milk, and you can also use coconut yogurt to replace dairy based yogurts. I also like to add omega 3's to my smoothie by incorporating flax seed powder or oil which helps with the absorption of fat soluable vitamins. Now lets get to that recipe shall we?
